We are well and truly into the madness of Holy Week now.  I've boiled the eggs, bought the fish for dinner tonight, practiced the anthems for Easter, and am now slogging through the double whammy of work and bonus church services until Sunday.  So today I'm sharing with you what I wore on Palm Sunday (or at least on the afternoon of Palm Sunday since I conveniently forgot that the liturgical colors for the first half of Holy Week are red.  RED.  There are so few opportunities to wear red, how could I forget?)

Black and brown striped vintage Lanz Originals dress accessorized with a red jacket and black hat

I snagged this fun stripey dress at Modern Millie after it had sat there for long enough to go on sale.  I'd avoided trying it on because brown isn't really my color, but since it was marked down I figured that I might as well, and lo and behold, I like it!  I think it'll be fun to pair with brighter colors, like lime, pink, or baby blue, and I'm glad to have another piece to wear my brown hats with.

The only odd thing about the fit is that the bust darts are a little low for what I've come to expect from dresses of this era.  I'm wearing a vintage bra here, but it doesn't really line up properly, so next time I think I'll try a modern one and see if that looks a little better.  It didn't really matter because it was still cold enough that I needed to wear my jacket most of the day anyway.

Salt-stained red shoes to coordinate with a bright red petticoat

It's clearly time to give all my shoes a good shine and a little love now that the salt is off the ground.  And you'll have to excuse the silly face, it says something about the mood around here this week...
