Let’s play catch-up!  These photos are actually from Christmas day, although you’d never know if I hadn’t told you, right?  I’m not exactly wearing the most festive of colors!  In accordance with family tradition, I dragged my housemates out for a walk in between brunch and dinner.  I did a little searching online and came up with a park just a few miles from our house.  I feel silly for not going sooner; it’s a very pretty park with a nice combination of paved and unpaved trails.  We’ve already gone several times since these pictures were taken.

I was originally planning to wear something a little more holiday-esque, but Doug got me the most enormous purple petticoat for Christmas, so I figured I might as well wear it right away!  The earmuffs, scarf, tights, and boots were all presents as well, so as far as I’m concerned that makes my outfit extremely festive.

The petticoat is this one from Malco Modes, and it’s lovely.   It’s made of a double layer of soft chiffon, which means that it isn’t scratchy even if I’m not wearing tights.  The edges are finished with an extra ruffle all the way around, and the elastic waistband can be used to adjust the length of the petticoat by choosing one of three casing channels.  Really, the only downside of this petticoat is that it can only support the fullest of skirts!  The ice skating skirt I’m wearing with it works because it’s heavy enough to hold the poof down, but otherwise I don’t think it’ll fit under anything less than a full circle!
