NOTD: Sparkle Aplenty

So, this polish has been sitting around for... um... a while.  I picked it up a few months ago when I saw it in the store, but never got around to putting it on.  I'm not sure what I was waiting for, it's a fantastic color.

Pictured is one thick-ish coat of Revlon Sparkle Aplenty over one coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black.  Sparkle Aplenty is a thin black jelly packed with small silver glitter, larger silver hex glitter, and a smattering of black hex glitter.  It seems like the monochrome cousin of Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance/Revlon Facets of Fuschia or Deborah Lippmann Ruby Red Slippers/Wet 'n' Wild Behind Closed Doors.  In other words, amazing, especially for the upcoming holiday party season.  It's a little tricky to get opaque on its own (three coats, I think?) but it has plenty of depth and shine as a single coat over black.  I may have to try it over white or grey as well to see if I can get more of the black hex glitters to come out to play.  Sparkle Aplenty does dry a little uneven, unfortunately, as is common of glittery polishes... these swatches have two coats of NYC Grand Central Station over the top, which evened out all but the most stubbornly crooked bits of glitter.

  1. Beautiful polish! I love your pictures. I have Facets of fuchsia and it gets opaque in two normal coats!

  2. I love the elegance and sense of mysterious allure that this pairing of jet black and shimmering silver gives off. It instantly called to mind thoughts of an ink hued road slicked with ice during a cold Canadian winter (aka, right now :) ).
