Week 29.1: Trees & Tinsel

Greetings!  I've somehow made it to Wednesday without doing an outfit first, so I must start this post off with the regular weight update:
Current Weight: 140.4 lbs
At Last Weigh-in: 140.8 lbs
Starting Weight: 144 lbs
Weight Loss to Date:  3.6 lbs

As I mentioned, we got our Christmas tree put up last weekend!  It's a short little thing (it claims to be 6 feet tall... I think they stretched it!) but it works, and once you get enough lights and decorations on, you almost don't notice how scrawny it is.

I've decorated my tree in white, silver, and blue for the past several years, but Doug picked up a box of ornaments cheaply at Goodwill that had a bunch of red and purple ornaments, so we ended up going with that color scheme this year.  We needed a few more ornaments to fill out the tree, so Doug picked out these wintertime diorama ornaments at Michael's along with some utilitarian velvety red spheres.

I picked up small artificial birds.

I'd been thinking of picking up some more seasonal hair decorations, and the glittered birds seemed just about perfect.  I'm sure they're meant to be clipped on tree branches, but I like them clipped to my hair.  I really wish I had an appropriate hat to perch them on, actually, but I'll settle for this until I do.

Green and silver cabled sweater: Modcloth, last winter (it's long gone)
Silver circle necklace: "Secret Buddy" gift during a musical
Silver belt: Target
Black wool pencil skirt, beset by fuzzballs: Goodwill
Stockings: Victoria's Secret
Black patent pumps: Payless
Green glittered bird: Michael's
Nail polish: See this post!

  1. Beautiful Christmas tree (love the purple and red colour combo, it seems really fresh, yet extremely classic at the same time) and outfit. The silver in your sweater reminds me of tinsel in the best and most festive of ways.

    1. Thank you! I love the tinsel-y-ness of the sweater, even though it does limit my sweater-wearing-months.
