Hello my loves!   Inspired by Salla's week of French Tips at OMG! Polish 'em! I decided to make an attempt at my own.
As I may have mentioned (once or twice...) I have a Junior Voice Recital on Friday.  I'll be standing up on stage in front of people for 40 minutes or so singing things (Handel, Brahms, etc.) to prove that I've made progress since being admitted to the University.  It's a bit of a rite of passage.  As part of this, I have to be dressed up all fancy in a formal dress and have my hair and makeup all done nicely.  Of course, I feel the need to have appropriate and matchy nails as well.
(This picture exists to prove that I have two hands and have polished the nails on both of them.)
Being a bit of a perfectionist, I decided to make a test run of the design I want.  I really really love the results. Unfortunately, they aren't quite the right color.  Huh.  In the picture below, I'm holding one of my earrings, which you can see is a good bit redder than my nails, and the dress itself is a medium-dark red.

For these nails, I used my usual Sinful Colors basecoat  and then painted the tips on freehand with Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White On.  I did a little cleanup with a brush dipped in acetone, and then painted the thin stripe with a striping brush dipped in acetone and Milani Hot Orchid.  I made a small circle to the outside edge of each nail with China Glaze Mrs. Claus (best match of the polishes I used to the colors I wanted...) and when that was dry, I stamped the flower from Bundle Monster Image Plate BM03 with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Silver Sweep over it.  On the ring fingers, I stuck on small rhinestones before I put on the top coat of Seche Vite.

What do you think?  Like the look?  Know any good colors?  Post a comment!
